The Olympic torch rolls with BIXI!

The COVAN, the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games organizing committee had expressed the desire that one of its torchbearers ride a BIXI bicycle as the Olympic torch passed through Montreal.

The Olympic torch, the universal symbol of the great meeting between nations where excellence and achievement are paramount, couldn’t find a better way to move around our city.

On the way to the 2010 Winter Olympic Games, to be held in Vancouver this coming February, the Olympic torch has made its way through the streets of Montreal on a BIXI.

Sylvie Chénier, a volunteer for the past 25 years with Montreal’s Tour de l’île, had the honor of carrying the torch.  Sylvie and her BIXI rode over a distance of 1.2 kilometres on Queen Mary Road, between Clanranald and Roslyn Streets.

Congratulations Sylvie!
This honor reflects on our entire BIXI community!
